Bio Innovation Unit

Established in August 2023, the Bio-Innovation Unit operates within BGN to accelerate the translation of bio-related research into technologies with real-world impact.

Working closely with BGU scientists across fields such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, bio-convergence, diagnostics, medical devices, and digital health, the unit provides dedicated professional guidance aimed at advancing early-stage discoveries toward commercialization.

The Bio-Innovation Unit systematically scans research across the university, identifying promising projects from the ideation stage through pre-commercial development. It supports researchers by reviewing proposals, defining key milestones toward industry readiness, and connecting projects with relevant internal and external funding opportunities.

By fostering collaboration across disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, medicine, computer science, and multiple engineering domains, the unit helps generate cutting-edge technologies that emerge at the intersection of fields and have strong potential for successful translation to industry.
